What is Olio?

Olio is your local go-to for free food and more, with a powerful mission of sharing more and wasting less. Whether it’s food you won’t eat in time or household items you no longer need, - Olio connects people so good stuff gets used, not binned.

Alongside everyday sharing, Olio also works with businesses through its Food Waste Heroes programme. Trained local volunteers collect unsold surplus food from supermarkets, cafés and other businesses, then share it with people nearby via the Olio app – turning unsold surplus food into meals for their communities.

Olio’s solution is simple and powerful: “Let’s normalise sharing what we no longer need, and make buying new a last resort”.

Olio’s community is already millions strong, and together, they’re creating a world that’s more sustainable, more affordable, and more connected.

As part of our new partnership, WhyBuy will now be shown in the Olio app on a homescreen product carousel. “Olio-ers” in London can just click on items they want to rent, and then complete their rental and delivery details on our website.
